SQ 218 Lounge Options

Hi all

I will be departing on SQ218 at 1am in a few weeks time. Will be arriving into Melbourne at about 8pm, given SKL lounge won't open until about 10pm, what will my lounge options be?

Flying J, VA gold.

Not at all familiar with MEL...

Sadly you might be stuck waiting for it to open, unless you can talk your way into the Air NZ lounge. There are a couple of decent cafes past immigration that will be pleasant enough to help pass the time though.

Given I'm flying J, I will be able to get into the NZ J lounge. Will it be open this late?

It was open earlier than 10 when we flew out a few months back.

I think it's because DLS starts, hence the lounge would open at 9:05 for 12:05 departure, but for 1:05 departure the lounge would open at 10:05

A J ticket would get you into the NZ lounge, but checking the schedules on Google, it looks like the last NZ flight of the day from MEL leaves at 6:35 pm, so I'd assume that the lounge would be closed after that flight leaves.

SQ208 leaves at 7:35 pm on the DST schedule. Not sure if they bother closing the lounge until 10 or not. At worst, there's a Café Vue after security/immigration that should do a decent coffee and overlooks the tarmac where you could hold up until the SQ lounge opens.

Assuming that you can check in (I think OLCI is possible), I was under the impression that the NZ lounge stays open for TG and EY flights.
