Southwest starting Hawaii flights

A lot of US websites/blogs are excited about the imminent launch of Southwest flights to/from Hawaii. As well as a few routes from the US mainland to Hawaii, Southwest is going to operate on a couple of inter-island routes (HNL-KOA and HNL-OGG) in competition with Hawaiian. Expect prices to come down in the short term!

The $29 and $49 sale fares sold out within a couple hours I believe. Southwest actually has a pretty good product, good leg room and the same service as legacy carriers in the main cabin.

I think they were intending to start using those later on, but at the moment it’s just regular 737s.
