Two years ago I helped my son travel to a job in Canada by transferring QFF points to a new QFF membership set up for him. He is still in Canada, has a Citibank debit card but no credit card to earn his own points. QFF now tell him that his remaining points have expired and that he would need to "earn" 2500 new points to reactivate all his old points and that my transferring new points to him does not qualify. Firstly, is that right?

Could his mother or I earn new points for him by connecting his QFF membership number with a loyalty scheme here in Aus?
What would be the best and quickest way of fixing this please? These days neither of us are big spenders on CCs.

Yes transfers are not deemed to be activity. Go Epicure for almost instant points posting.
How many QF points are involved in the loss?
One of my nieces had several hundred thousand points expire but we managed to get a Qantas Points Challenge so they were returned once the challenge rules had been handled.

Could he activate his Qantas cash card? Which is also his Qantas frequent flyer card. Has CAD currency and load and spend on stuff he needs?
I'm thinking about doing this for my partner as he hasn't flown Qantas for almost a yr and his next flight will probably be > 18 months since his last QF flight. After that I might steal them all ... just for safe keeping:p.

Thanks for this and all replies. Can see why you want me to send you any grog purchases - prices are beyond my spend limit. However, am probably going to join.

It's not just alcohol, there is food available too. Can probably find something well under $100 easily, but as you need a minimum 2500 points, your best bet is to find a 6/12 pack of wine that comes with bonus points. There were some going for $150 the other day with 5000 bonus points.

Dont waste the money taking out a membership, just find a case you like and buy it. Points will credit basically straight away.
