I initially posted this in the cancellations thread, but given the extent of the issue I thought I'd post here as it might be more expose with those flying.

Today's QF43 SYD-DPS and QF45 MEL-DPS were turned around mid-flight and returned to MEL/SYD.

JQ116 PER-DPS showing as cancelled. JQ127 ADL-DPS also cancelled. JQ37 SYD-DPS also returned to SYD.

VA37 SYD-DPS cancelled. Also the Air Asia flight PER-DPS cancelled.

Mt Agung has erupted again.

It certainly has.

Mount Agung erupts, but airport operations on watch
Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali is assessing whether to temporarily halt operations following Mount Agung’s latest eruption this week.

Airport authorities have issued a warning to airlines on the possibility of ash disrupting flights to and from the airport following the eruption, urging all airlines to remain cautious although the situation has yet to affect flight routes.

I guess the pax who've returned to Australia are the lucky ones and the people stuck there unlucky.

Or maybe the other way around?
Plenty of worse places to be stuck for awhile

As my wife pointed out last night, this volcano seems to have an uncanny knack of picking school holiday times (in W.A. at least) to erupt.:) The ABC also mentioned this facility on their website today.

And check out the dates of the Bali Bombings. October school holidays.

the volcano has a nice picture and dust cloud lines around it on Flightradar24
Note the side of cancelled flights
