So with only two weeks to go it looks likes there will be no % bonus to move CC points to QF????

One would think that if Qantas suddenly announced now say a 25% bonus to transfer that those who have already moved would feel somewhat aggrieved?????

So what do you think?

No inducements from Qantas in terms of a % bonus...or do you think that they will mount a last minute offer?

I suggest, as I have in another thread that if an offer was made, it would be this week.

Note they have already made an offer - free QFF membership if you don't have it, and are going to transfer points.

Perhaps they are waiting til the like of NAB transfer all their points over. This was supposed to happen last night but was delayed for 1 month due to some error.

I'd love it if they offered a 25% bonus or more.. I'd dump a heap of points over for some DOM flights.

Perhaps they will wait until after 31st March when all the customers who WANT to be with QFF have transferred.

Then in April, target all those that they know have other cards because they have received QFF points in their accounts (ie MR, CBA Awards etc) then offer them an incentive to move to QFF.

Received an EMail from QFF last night:

Thank you for supporting Qantas Frequent Flyer through your direct earn card. However, if you have points in any other card reward programs, we'd like to remind you that after 31 March, you may not have the option to transfer them into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account*.

Are we starting to see a softening of the cutoff?

you may not have the option

is that implying that you may still have an option if we want to offer an extra incentive.

I think to offer an incentive now, towards the end of the game is going to get a few people off side.

Certainly there has been an increased PR/advertising effort in the last week.

For me, through Westpac Altitude, DJ & SQ are looking just fine for future redemptions.

I don't think it is a softening, more a reference to the fact that some cards will still provide the option to transfer to QFF.

.

no, its been may the whole time.

the may part just refers to the programs that you can still retain qf as an airline partner in an external rewards system (e.g. Spirit with amex).

The wording on the Amex website is also a little interesting:

You may feel like you need to make a choice about where to put your Membership Rewards points. Your best choice might be to leave them where they are.

Followed by two links to:

Flexibility and Choice with your Membership Rewards
Your Qantas FF options

It seems somewhat biased language to me :)

Here's the email I got:

Hello <>

___________________________________________________________

31 March is getting closer*
___________________________________________________________

Your membership no: <>

You've probably heard that 31 March may be your last chance
to transfer your credit card points into your Qantas
Frequent Flyer account*. If you're still undecided, remember
that by transferring your points now, you're giving yourself
the option to use them with us in the future^.

So don't leave your points behind. With great benefits like
Qantas and Jetstar Classic Award seats, Any Seat Award
seats and over 1000 Award items at the online Qantas
Frequent Flyer Store, we really wouldn't want you to
miss out.

Contact your card provider to transfer your points today.

You may be able to transfer your points online. To see if
your card provider offers this option click below or call
the Frequent Flyer Service Centre on 13 11 31.

I just received the same.

"you're giving yourself the option to use them with us in the future" YAY!

Yes, I do love the way that QF phrases this as "you're doing YOURSELF a favour by giving us all your points".

I wonder if there ever might be a reversal of this - if enough Australians give up on QFF transfers, they might consider going back to the old ways.

I actually expect a backflip from Qantas later this year... But it will be done in a subtle way to ensure people think it's an improvement, not actually returning things to status quo as they are now.

Qantas may or may not realise that what they have done is to encourage people to discover how to use credit card points. When people do sums, they don't always end up wanting to transfer to Qantas. Thank you very much Qantas for making things clear to many Australians who were previously un-advised about frequent flyer points.

And a special thanks goes out to Velocity Rewards, and American Express (and probably others), who have quite clearly demonstrated that there are other options apart from sending points to Qantas.

It's like getting a Christmas present in April!

(Why doesn't this forum have a roll eyes smiley? Probably because it'd be over used :p)

Except going by the results from the survey they did here, it seems they would have gotten their money's worth already anyway, as it looks like over 60% of folks have transferred at least some of their points to QFF.

They do have one, here.. let me demonstrate :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I could well be wrong but I have a feeling that QF will not be offering any bonus points to transfer points before March 31.

If QF decided to offer bonus points at the last minute and I had already transferred points across I would be extremely disappointed....

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

To encourage people they
1) Have had a competition offering a prize for people doing the direct sweep thing
2) Had a zero joining fee promotion, to get those who were in a reward scheme but not in QFF

Doing much more would look like panic!
