Hi,

Hoping somebody can help me with this question.

I'm flying into singapore airport terminal 1 with JQ and have about a 7hr (o'night) layover before my connecting flight.

My connecting flight is from the budget terminal (Tiger)

I'm booked into the transit hotel in terminal 1 but was thinking of checking out the Plaza Premium lounge in terminal 2 and the other facilities Changi has as this is my 1st (extended) layover in Singapore

My question is whether I'm free to roam between the different transit malls without an onward boarding pass. I understand they are linked by skytrain but dont know if any other checks are done when moving between them.

As my connecting flight is from the budget terminal I wont have a boarding pass for terminal 1,2, or 3.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

You will have to leave the transit area and go through customs to collect bags if you have any however you are free to roam so to speak until you need to get to the Budget terminal which will require a customs clearance, from the Changi website:

If you arrive on JetstarAsia, Valuair or Thai Air Asia, you can stay at the nearest Transit Hotel in Terminal 1. As the Transit Hotel is located in the Transit Hall, you should not clear Customs and Immigration upon your arrival in Singapore. We recommend that you make a room reservation with the Transit Hotel well in advance.
However, you must still have the valid travel documents into Singapore to clear Customs and Immigration to collect your check-in baggage from the respective airline handling agents' Lost & Found counter at the centre of the Arrival Baggage Claim Hall. It is advisable to do so at least 2 hours before you check-in for your connecting budget airline at the Departure Hall (JetstarAsia, Valuair or Thai Air Asia) or the Budget Terminal (Tiger Airways).
If you are connecting to a Tiger Airways or a Cebu Pacific Air flight, you can catch the free shuttle service from Terminal 2 Basement to Budget Terminal. Note that passengers arriving on Tiger Airways or Cebu Pacific Air will not be able to make use of the Transit Hotels as they are only located in Terminals 1 and 2.

Thanks Marcus. I wont be collecting my luggage until I'm heading for my connecting flight the next morning.

So if I understand correctly, I'm free to roam the transit malls of all 3 terminals without an onward boarding pass as long as I dont clear immigration on arrival at Terminal 1 ?

Yes, as long as you are in one Terminal, you can freely access the others.

You just hop on the free train that connects them.

You are free to roam around and no one checks for Boarding Passes.

One of the good things about SIN airport while in transit is that you can go for long walks in any of the 3 terminals and not get bored too easily.

+1 and make sure you go upstairs as well as just the boarding gate/ shops level, as that's where a lot of the food & beverage options are found, as well as an assortment of other interesting things.
