I'm planning two trips in the next three months.

The first to Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia in April.

The second to USA in June.

Two weeks on each occasion.

My Australian service provider is Telstra and I usually take my "main" phone (Iphone 7 plus) with all data turned off. For any "emergency" calls and sending/receiving SMS.

My backup phone (Iphone6) does not have SIM card. I like to use it locally when overseas for such things as emails, transport timetables, maps, etc.

So my question is what would be a good SIM for data for my Iphone 6 bearing in mind my travel plans over the next three months?

Even in places with widespread wifi I do like to have a data SIM.

Thanks in advance for any advice/trips and apologies if similar questions have been asked/answered previously.

Have a look and just buy sim cards for the relevant country...

SIM Corner has all the sim cards on offer and you can have them before you leave.

Have a look around the many threads in this very forum:

I am lucky that I am with Virgin Mobile (Australia) and I can use the same phone number to receive call and get roaming data for cat 1* counties in 30 day packs (e.g. $30 for 500MByte). I use Skype or messenger to make calls back to oz.

Get one for each country when you arrive at the airport. It's quick and cheap this way.
I also carry a spare iPhone to use as a data sim for my main phone.

I would strongly recommend FlexiRoamX.. works in pretty much all countries, with yearly data expiry and US$30/GB

Also is a sticker that sticks over your SIM so you can software switch between them and not actually have to change sims (which is generally great except that you lose access to your normal number, which is a slight pain).. If you plan to use 2 phones as you suggest, just stick it onto any random SIM card.. pick up a free or $2 pack from someone.

Super happy with mine, have now purchased 15GB of data through it in the last 10 months or so.
