Should I wait or apply now

Hi

With the changes kicking in from April 15th on Amex, do you think the sign up points bonus will increase or stay the same or decrease ?

and will the cards offered by banks, will the sign up bonus change as well ?

So should i wait and see what happens or should i apply for a card now ?

what are your thoughts

Best case scenario (very unlikely) is that sign up bonuses will be doubled. If this is the case, you will get the same number of frequent flyer points at the end of the day (because the transfer rates to airlines will have been halved). So, in the best case scenario you will be the same as today.

In the most likely scenario, sign up bonuses will not be doubled and you will be worse off than today.

So, I reckon you should apply today and have the bonus points posted before the devaluation day (meet the minimum spend, etc ASAP).

Transfer /Earn rate for FF partners will be significantly reduced - including existing points (Although Plat charge holders will have current balance doubled to compensate)
