Hey guys and gals. Later this year, I will be flying QF BNE-ADL arriving ADL 11:20am and then onwards on Qatar to DOH in J class departing at 22:35pm.
Am I right to assume the Qantas Club / International lounge will be closed, as the last QF flight departs at 8pm?
Also are any locals able to make some suggestions for the best way into the city and somewhere interesting for lunch and/or dinner?

Cheers

Taxi to Glenelg, stroll around and find somewhere for lunch, then get tram to city and have a look at the central market etc (if it's open), Rundle Mall shops, botanical gardens, etc. Pop up to rooftop bar 2KW for evening drinkies (or dinner if you want) and great city views, then taxi (or bus, if you're keen) back to airport.

There's only one QF lounge at ADL, shared between domestic and international. It will definitely be open later than 8pm.

And the QF Lounge is air side (when thinking International) i.e you need to do a second security check "after" the QF lounge and will then be just sitting at the departure gate

Ok thanks for the heads up and for the suggestions of what to do in town...I'm just thinking - I have the option of getting a later flight from BNE, arriving at ADL at 21:25. Is 1 hr enough time to connect to an international flight?

Initiate an AFF meet up / dinner - lots of friendly AFFers in ADL

I would have suggested similar to opusman except would have said Uber :)

Lounge will be open all day and will stay open until you depart.

An hour would be sufficient, but if you're inbound flight is delayed you could miss your connecting flight leaving you with a lovely 24 hours in RAdelaide then.

I wouldn't risk the hour. Doesnt take much to turn that into stress time. Opusman's plan is pretty good to capture the mostest. Adelaide market is open mainly Thursday through Saturday.

The second security screening is quite quick because most of the Y passengers have gone through when they call your flight in the lounge. Be prepared to be underwhelmed by the Adelaide QP that late at night - I was there a few weeks ago and it was grubby and not a lot of food. If all goes well an hour is fine but you don't want to be stressed by that.

You can get an all day bus tram ticket but if you do use the bus or tram you can board another bus or tram within a 2 hour period for the same price. Glenelg is nice as is Henley beach

Come down to henley beach for lunch!
or get a uber to penfolds magill estate for a nice lunch and wines .

As a visitor, I really enjoy Adelaide. Depending on the day that you are there, there is some great food to be had at Adelaide Central Market. I enjoy a walk out to the Adelaide Oval area & if you are a fan of cricket there are tours of the oval available. I have also enjoyed a few beers & counter meal at some of the pubs.

Yea plenty of options in ADELAIDE. And checkin closes an hour before flight. So assuming your on the one ticket that parts fine but reliance on the network to run on time could come with risk of paying more to get on the following days flight...

Wow thank you all for the fantastic suggestions. It will be in mid October so plenty of time to organize a meet up I'd say :)
