Hi, we are on QF31 (Y+) & have selected 36J & 36K (which I have subsequently discovered has a car seat anchor point).
Could we find ourselves "sitting in the middle of the back row" by OLCI time, should someone with a child request that seat. Thanks.

I was going to pre-select that seat for the same flight at Christmas time, but the nice lady at qantas bookings told me we would be moved if someone with a child needed the seat, so she pre-selected 38J&K for us....much better seat!:)

Where you will be sitting if those seats are required depends on what is available.

Just checked again and Row 38 exit row is available.

Selected the seats, but they show in the booking details in a red font (not the usual black). Is that because they are exit row seats or is there some other problem?

Yes, the red font is to show that it's an exit row. It will stay like that until you check in at the airport.

thanks, I'll keep an eye on the booking until I can OLCI (at T-24hr).

Will OLCI work for an exit row? Both times I've preallocated an exit row, OLCI hasn't generated a boarding pass, instead gives a piece of paper that I need to show to a human at the airport.

I presume this was to ensure I was physically able to operate the emergency exit. Or was I just unlucky? Upshot is I tend to avoid preselecting exit rows.

Good choice. 38K is my favourite seat in that cabin by far.

Exit row Q already clarified by other posters :)
