I have a booking in Exec class for 4 Syd to DPS for June on GA715. Seatguru says this is an A330-300 which is a 2-2-2 arrangement in Exec Class. But when I rang Webjet cust service to enquire how to get seat alloc they told me the arrangement is 1-2-1.

Two of the travellers are my wife and her sister and the will not be happy if they cant sit together and natter. Who do I trust and how should I check this?

Many thanks for any help.

Can you go to Garuda's web site and do a dummy booking for the flight, to see what seat map comes up (I assume one will come up)?

Seat guru is often out of date - especially for non USA based carriers.

The most accurate seat maps are usually found on the airline's website.

GA is supposedly flying the new 1-2-1 configuration to Australia - as confirmed by expertflyer.

For future reference - webjet has some extraordinary 'fees' which put you out of pocket by $50 or so per booking. Absolutely and totally not necessary (I cannot think, for example, when their 'ticket price guarantee' would ever be necessary).

Thankyou all for the help. Think I put the wife ad her sister next to each other in the middle and the 2 bag carriers ( sometimes known as hubbys ) can have quiet flights on the window seats.

I was aware of webjet fees but as this is still a fairly new task for me I can wear them. I wil be travelling mroe as I ease into retirement and will get more independent as I go. This forum is and will be a great help.

webjet is probably a good source of air fare comparison, but once you have found the cheapest price, simply head on over to the airline's own website and book there.

with very few exceptions, there is no benefit booking through an online agent such as webjet compared to going to the airline direct. But there are many downsides and increased costs.

I agree with Mel_Traveller that webjet are only useful for a comparison. Their fee are almost a form of extortion and they don't always offer all the options.

Another and better comparison option is via skyscanner and that can be accessed via a link at the top of this page.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

True - but be aware that both Webjet and BYOJet are on their list of options that they throw up in response to your enquiry.
