Hi All,

I'm in the (long) process of planning my first DONE4. Currently I'm quite flexible with my North America segments and would like to maximise SC where if I can.

I understand with DONE4, if the AA flight does not have J then you'd be placed in F. The bonus being that the QF SC would be against F instead of J. I plan to take advantage of this where I can.

Here's my question - is there an easy way to determine which AA flights only has F and doesn't have J?

So far I'm guessing based on the aircraft type (e.g. AB6 seat plan on aa.com indicates it does not have J). The online reservation seem to confirm this. Is this method a correct?

Additionally, this info seems to contradict what MileageMonkey reports as part of its validation. e.g. according to MM there is J class for MIA-JFK but I cannot seem to find one - maybe its information is out of date?

As usual advanced thanks goes to all usual suspects NM, DaveNoble, QF9, simongr, serfty, Evan and many others which made this exercise much more enjoyable than I've ever imagined!

only other than the transcontinental flights such LAX-JFK, just about domestic flights within USA are 2 class on AA with 1st and Economy

Pretty much all the international North American flights ( such as US-Canada ) are 2 class with Business and Eonomy

Unless the aircraft type is 777 or 762, there is no chance of it being 3 class

Do not use Qantas Codeshares on the AA flights since QF does offer D class on the 2 class services ; it will be the same seat but with lower FF earning

Note that AA flights between USA and Canada are 2-class sold as J and Y, so DONE4 will book into D and pay business class SCs for these flights.

Same for the Carribean flights - and I assume the same for MEX?

Yup. All the international North America ones will be J/Y. Only the domestic USA 2 class services are F/Y
