Hi sammy, it's been a while since I've seen your name on this board. Yeah, the festival is great, but I'd suggest people go early evening and enjoy the warm spirits (e.g. sake) at both the Odori and Susukino venues (Ice Festival). And it's not only at night they sweep the statues; they do them as and when necessary given it's almost always snowing. Of course if you're not a drinker, then sammy is probably right and best to visit in the AM.sammy said:Yes, we went a couple of years ago and its great. If its snowing, its best to go early in the day (they sweep them off at night) to get the full icy effect.
