Recently, Safari on my iPad displays the AFF site then after 20 seconds or so crashes with an error that the page had caused an error and has to be reloaded.

It seems like possibly a bad script or one of the annoying adds or javascript/flash/other cough that is also displayed automatically on the AFF pages. Maybe something new over the last week/month?

Anyone have any ideas why this happens.

I've cleared the cache and turned off icloud sync for Safari to no avail.

I'm having the same problem, it's rather annoying.

Happening on my brand new ipad too! Also, the mobile mode recently dissappeared on my iphone. Both very annoying.

I am having no issues, it might be worth mentioning OS ver and device that it is according on.

iPad (4th Generation), 64Gb, iOS 8.1.1 (latest) & Safari latest.

Doesn't crash in Chrome, only in Safari. Absolutely reproducible.

Markus10 - remember that you are a 'paid' user so don't see all the cough and script junk that us mortals get plastered with. Goes to support my theory a bit. Some script junk refreshes every 15-30 seconds and causes the crash possibly.

Thats one aspect, and I am using a variety of Safari platforms but only the Max is running the current OS. Having been in IT since 1981, I tend not to jump to the latest updates.

I am running iOS 8.1 on my iPad 3 and was able to load AFF through Safari both logged-out and logged-in. No crashes.

Mobile Mode recently became a premium feature only to account for the loss of the AFF app I believe, unless that was always the case and then I don't know :p

I had 3 crashes last night when on AFF in the SIN lounge. No other sites caused issues.
OK in Saigon a few hours earlier. iPad 2 64 running 8.1.1

Mobile mode just reappeaed on my iPhone after disappearing a week or two ago!

iPad Air 2 128GB - think it's running iOS 8.1, or possibly 8.1.1, given it seems that's the version having issues. Will have to check when I get home.

I had experienced this for a while, though hasn't happened for a while? Also, when the in-ipad-app 'Web View' tab loads, it redirects to a blank URL on safari out of app, and then closes the in-app browser, leaving me just with the forum in app mode. Quite annoying when trying to use the feature.

AFF has occassionally crashed on my iPad - but most of the time it is pretty stable. And yes, I have tested it when ads are being displayed with the same results

Yes, Have now made the Mobile Mode available to all again. Non-paid members will see ads on the Mobile Mode (as they do on PC Mode). I don't believe the Modes are related to the crashes being reported in this thread.

I'm having the same problem. It has started in the last couple of days and foes not correlate with any software changes I have done. It only appears on AFF.

I am using an iPad 4 with iOS 8.1.1.
The page crashes. A message appears. The page reloads. This will repeat every 30 seconds or so.

i have a screen grab of the error.

Creating the reply above took about 10 attempts due to recurring crashes.

So the ones having this problem are mostly non-financial members? ;)
