Was just at an investment management presentation and one Portfolio Manager (MD of Firetrail Investments Patrick Hodgens) piqued my curiosity with the statement above.

Based on the assumption that it may happen, I wonder what valuation Virgin have on Velocity in their books and what interest there will be. Could deliver the capital that Virgin need but exclude the future cash flow that a FF program delivers.

He also was very pleased with his investment in Qantas...

He values QAN at $10.

I’d pay $10 for Qantas. Perhaps not for an individual share though.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes, whilst the "I's" may refer to AJ, I'm not sure that he can rightly take all the credit - but as CEO, he probably will. The Board sets the plans, he implements them and the thousands of QF staff do the work.

They've been pushing that barrow for a while

The history of Aeroplan, which did well initially, then lost everyone their shirt, means this will be a tough sell I suspect

I'll definitely be having a look at this since FFP are more profitable than the rest of the airline, although if VA have put in place intra-group agreements to minimise what they pay VFF for points it may make it less lucrative than expected. Also depends on what scope there is for VA to cut the thing adrift (like AC did with Aeroplan) and just setup a new scheme.
