Hi AFF,

I am trying to help a friend book the following:

BNE/VCE/LHR or MAN/YVR/land/YYR/ATL/HNL/BNE

11/05/17: BNE/VCE (STOP)
26/05/17: VCE/LHR or MAN (STOP)
02/06/17: LHR or MAN/YVR (land to YYR) (STOP)
09/06/17: YYR/ATL (STOP)
14/06/16: ATL/HNL (STOP)
17/06/16: HNL/BNE

Questions:

1) Would this fit under any RTW fare option?
2) Is it possible to complete the above under One World?
3) Is a cash ticket of 2 x RTW Economy cheaper than a 1 x RTW FF J Class and 1 x paid J Class?

Any and all assistance appreciated... with appropriate remuneration of course!

Cheers,

Qantas21

1. It certainly would fit within RTW fare conditions of the main Oneworld carriers that are relevant to most Australians.
2. Everything right up until YVR is easy and I can see availability for award seats. Everything in and out of YYR appears to be exclusive to AC and it's regional carriers, *A unfortunately. I don't know enough about open jaws to say whether or not they're possible cross-country, but needless to say they would not be able to carry out the entire itinerary as a RTW award.
3. Every Oneworld carrier obviously has their own prices, but if you look at the '4 continent' fares with qantas Round the World Ticket | Student Flights and Trips | Qantas as an example, it would appear as though it is cheaper to purchase two paid Y RTW fares than it is to book one as an award (which would entail $1000-$2000 in taxes) and purchase a J RTW.

If they are looking at doing as much of this as possible on a Oneworld RTW award, have they got sufficient points/miles with an appropriate Oneworld airline account?
