I am flying Royal Brunei Melb-LHR in April, having chosen them because of their super-competitive business class fares. I am aware they fly 777s with the reclining, rather than fully flat seats. However, I saw one recent review that seemed to suggest they are upgrading BC seats to the fully flat ones. Does anyone know if this is true, or just wistful thinking on my part?

I would doubt, that they are. Firstly they are leased planes from SIA, secondly they are getting 5 new dreamliners?? in Sept/Oct. I have used them twice and do like them, but be advised RB is a dry airline (No Alchol served on the plane and ate their lounge in BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN AIRPORT. I have done a report ( http://www.australianfrequentflyer....runei-airlines-to-london-38653.html?highlight= ), RB is great if you want a trouble free quiet flight. But if you are after a boozey party flight they are not for you.

Oh well, not the end of the world. I am sure the gold fittings in the toilets will make up for that. Yes, knew they were a dry airline, that's not a problem. Thanks!

I have read multiple times that though they are dry, you can BYO (though I can't attest to this personally, not having flown them).

No problems, the FA's will service your wine or beer. But the airline doesn't provide any themselves.
This means that the flight is very quiet, and peaceful.

Anyone know what lounge Royal Brunei use in Melbourne? I'll be flying into Melbourne domestically on Virgin (currently VA gold) then transferring to Royal Brunei for the trip to the golden kingdom.

Don't know about the chill part, but yes they will provide glass. Saw a couple of people on the plane drinking there own Booze/

If I fronted up with a coupla bottles of Moet or Veuve from DF would they be able to chill them - serve them? Anybody tried?

Likewise, don't know if they would chill them, but perhaps some nice people in the lounge would whack them in the freezer for a while.
