Just read this on OzBargain and checked it on iwantthatflight.com.au
Fly in 787, one stop in Brunei and one in Dubai. I enjoy getting out and stretching my legs. No alcohol served.
Can also do combination Y there and business back which will be dearer. Reckon there will be light loadings and hence sale. Maybe someone will now how to check seating availability for your chosen dates?

While I have flown on it a couple of times, I am wary about this airline as it only has four, fully committed long range aircraft. One is required for MEL - BWN and return; the other three are required for BWN - DXB and LHR return, as both operate daily.

If one goes off for maintenance or breaks down, passengers are up a certain type of creek.

J fares are good to at $4450 MEL to LHR. Good hard product, with new 787 planes, RB is a dry airline so don't expect booze on the flight or in Brunei, although you can bring your own. Have used them a few times, was OK.

BYO may be limited to small (under 100ml) spirits. The staff will supply you with a mixer. I don't think it's possible to bring beer or wine on board.

OK, I did see couple drinking a bottle of Red on the MEL to Brunei flight. Can't speak for anything else.

If you can get the alcohol past security you can take it on board and consume it, beer or wine doesn't matter. Immediate flights TO Australia (ie ex BWN) will be subject to the 100ml restriction. But from MEL for example you could know yourself out with a full bottle of wine. You'd also need to check if there is a transit restriction for liquids at the DXB connection. You may need to buy a new bottle there for the onward sector rather than carry the already opened bottle with you.

The answer here is clearly to buy something duty free rather than carry through customs isn't it?
