Hey guys

I want to book some flights to Perth but thought you didnt earn status credits on rewards flights... but then i read this..

You will earn Status Credits when you travel on eligible fares with Virgin Australia and our airline partners, plus on eligible Any Seat redemptions and on fares flown as part of a Virgin Australia Holidays package.
Can anyone let me know if I will earn status credits on a reward flight to Perth?

Thanks!

No you do not earn SCs on reward seat redemptions, except during special promos of which VA do not have any at the moment

But you do earn on any seat awards, which is what the OP quoted from the terms and conditions. Very important to make the distinction between a reward seat and an any seat seat.

I had a ppp booking, had to change it, paid fare difference and change fee, and guess what the system did, yep, got ne VR FF points and VR SC too.

If you booked an any seat award, which I assume is what you mean by points plus pay (PPP), then it would earn regardless of making a change.

For the avoidance of doubt: the fares in the left two columns (Economy Reward and Business Reward - note the fare names say 'Reward') do not earn points or status credits, as they are award fares.

The fares in the right two columns (Saver Lite and Saver - note the fare names are the same as what the regular $$ search engine calls them) are any seat award fares and will earn points and status credits. They're also a heck of a lot more expensive. ;)

Of course the cost in the right two columns does vary, depending....
