Last week I made a Classic Reward booking MEL-BNE-BDB and vv.

I've waited and searched my spam folders and have received no confirmation email. When I check online, the booking is there in my FF centre, but the points have not been deducted. The flights are not until next year, but shouldn't the points have gone from my account immediately?

I have tried to contact QF, but there's a long wait in chat and also on the phone. QF has now hung up on me TWICE while I was waiting on hold.

Stuck in the ticketing queue would be my guess. If you enter the PNR over at CheckMyTrip, is there an e-ticket number shown?

If it is stuck, calling is the only option to get it fixed in my experience

If flights aren't for a while they often will take some time to ticket. But you are right not to let it wait too long before chasing it. Keep trying to call at different times.

I don't use chat for anything important, but I'm surprised there's a wait for this too?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for the replies guys, yes, it had not been ticketed. I finally managed to get hold of someone from QF through FB. I mean, it's ridiculous that the only way to get customer service is through social media. There are people who are not online at all out there.

It's been sorted out now, and I got an email and the points have been deducted. I was half hoping that somehow I'd get my flights and keep my points, haha. As if that would happen. Oh well, it's still the bargain of the century to get there and back for only 24K points.

Unfortunately Check My Trip requires registration, so I didn't try it. :( I do want an app for managing my trips but I'm not sure if that's the best one.

I’ve even resorted to twitface to get some action happening. Sad days.
I haven't yet resorted to Twotter or Fusebook but that may need to happen some day. I don't think it's right that a company should only provide customer care via these channels.
