Hi,
I have been catching up on past episodes of the ABC program, The Code. I googled the aircraft (Cessna 404) registration used in the series VH-TFU. It also came up as a Metro 23, the actual aircraft involved in the Lockhart River fatal impact into terrain. Does this mean they reuse registration numbers? I would have thought regulators would retire those registrations involved in aircraft write-offs/fatalities. Is this not the case?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The Rego's can be re-used.

Have a look at the registrations of the current 332's from QF, they have been used for the 707's and 743's previously.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the 767 VH-OGx series is used for the 787s (QF had OGA-OGV which still seem unused, OGW-OGZ are private aircraft)

How many aircraft do you think have been registered at some point in Australia?
The current VH- registration tag allows 17,576 total registrations.
