I need 250 status credits and 4 eligible flights to retain silver before 30th June!
I am planning a trip (not yet booked), April 17 to 13 June, Melb-Santiago return on QF flights or flight numbers. (Plus flights within Sth America on LATAM, however these do not earn 'status credits' nor are they considered 'eligible flights.')
Just looking for any ideas to enable me to maximise the above and retain silver.
I realise I will no doubt have to do a separate status credit run to reach the requirements so appreciate ideas for that too please?
Most grateful for any input, thanking you in advance.

You should register for the Double Status Credits promo and book in time.

Indirect flights to QLD holiday spots (Gold Coast via Sydney, Cairns via Brisbane etc.) are a good option for status runs. Even better if you’d like to spend a weekend there anyway. New Zealand via Sydney offers good value too. Why fly direct when you can fly indirect?

With the current double status credits promo you would earn 260 status credits and 4 eligible segments for return "Economy Saver" flights Melbourne-Sydney-Santiago on Qantas. For your travel dates that would cost $1,841 return. You would need to register for the promo and book by tomorrow!

I do also notice that there are Premium Economy sale fares available on your dates. You could fly Melbourne-Sydney-Santiago with Qantas in Premium Economy for $2,199 return and earn 400 status credits (normally 200). For the extra ~$358 it's well worth it IMHO!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

.... (Plus flights within Sth America on LATAM, however these do not earn 'status credits' nor are they considered 'eligible flights.')....

Most LATAM flights in South America do earn SC and points - it is only some of the cheapest economy fares that do not - you have to check carefully the rules for the exact fare buckets for flights in each country.

Every LATAM flight we flew last year, and the year before, earned SCs and points. Not lots, but they add up.

SC earn on LATAM not an issue but QF sectors problematic.

You could purchase MEL-SYD-SCL vv and attain the 4 sectors.
