Requested international upgrade when PS, now plat - will QF acknowledge new status

I have requested international upgrade MEL-LAX for flights in Dec for my family. When I requested upgrades my status was PS - I am now WP. Will the upgrade request acknowledge my new and better status or should I cancel and resubmit request. Feeling nervous because I keep reading about issues with PIN changes and upgrade requests not working. Not sure how it works with changing status.

I don't know the answer but i would cancel the request, then request it again so the system 'knows" the request came from a platinum member

I agree with KPC. WP will always trump silver regardless of timing.

Are you travelling with your family on the same booking or are you only doing the requesting on their behalf?

If the family are travelling without you then your status does not have any bearing on their upgrade success as it's status of the pax themselves that determines the pecking order of the upgrades. Cancelling and re-requesting the upgrade won't achieve anything.

Only the status of CL and P1 requesting for family members will have any bearing on the outcome of the upgrade request.
