Requalification timing and Status Upgrade - It's all in the timing - but what happens

The Qantas site is showing me a requalified as Gold with the next review date as 31 Aug 2013 (ticked over this week although I've been sitting on the current points balance for a few weeks now).
I have a trip coming up this week that will qualify me for Platinum (yes I know it's the new Gold after the double SC offer) - so what happens in terms of what they mail out to me?
Should I expect my Gold renewal pack in the post now that the system says I'm ok for Gold through to 2013 - or are they smart enough to see the booking in the system and hold off sending that out and only send out the Platinum pack?

I imagine you'll be getting a gold pack in the mail.

I guess they can only build some many smarts into their system - if it could recognise the fact I have future bookings in August that would result in a status change they could save themselves some processing.
I guess it's not a big volume issue

I guess it's not a big volume issue

There's also no guarantee that you will take the flights as booked.

True - but all they'd need to do then is have the system rerun the query post the dates of the planned flights and see if they needed to process the Gold renewal - or issue at the new level at that point
