Reduction in QF point-earning fare classes with Alitalia

I think this one has slipped under the radar. As of 3 days ago, fare classes L, O and W on Alitalia international flights are no longer eligible to earn Qantas points.

I noticed that too today when I clicked on the link provided by today's Qantas Frequent Flyer newsletter.

IME, I won't be disadvantaged by the loss of earn on most economy fare buckets inter-Europe with Altialia, although this change just cements the fact that decent QFF points earnt on flights within Europe is hard to come by.

While it won't have an effect on me, I think Alitalia is pretty hopeless, it is a bit nasty for those who do use them.

I claimed for 4 flights (because there were 4 people) in July on Alitalia for a inter-Europe flight. Not likely to repeat, so it won't effect me - but all these changes are increasingly stingy. We got about 2500 points together.
