Redemption Cancellation - return of points timeline

Hoping for some of your experiences - I cancelled a redemption flight on Friday 13 January. I am now awaiting the return of the points to my KrisFlyer account so I can book something else. Any ideas how long it will take for the points to hit my account? It isn't urgent as I have heaps of date flexibility for the new booking but it would be good to know when I should start following up and asking if anything has gone wrong with the return of points.

Instead of cancelling I called SQ and asked them make a new booking for me. They put the new booking on hold, cancelled the other booking for me and after 3 days I had a my new booking completed without anything else needing to be done.

I would call them to get the flight you want put on hold and explain you want to use points from the cancelled booking.
 
Points back into account about an hour after I posted the question!

Rebooked trip to Japan in Oct 17 with Melbourne departure, was booked to depart Sydney because I wanted to travel on the A380. Now I can do that without adding an extra flight.
