Recommend me airport hotel at SIN and a plan for the evening on Monday in Singapore

I have a night in Singapore on Monday. I want to stay at an airport hotel, so please recommend.

I also want want to head out for dinner and a bit of a look around. I've not been there before. Recommend a plan, bar, restaurant etc. happy to use public transport etc, just need to know a bit about how it works.

Land about 1600 Monday arvo and depart 0930 Tuesday morning.

There are two airport hotels, neither of which I can recommend for your stay, suggest you have a look at downtown to save money while also seeing Singapore. Taxis are cheap and easy to get at the times you are travelling, or you can take the train which will take 45 minutes for around $2.10 SGD. Whats the budget?

Curuios as to why you would not recommend the Crowne Plaza at Changi? I have used it several times and find it very nice and very convenient.

At the price of $315, I think better value can be had in town given the length of the stopover, the HIX on orchard is $250, while the Novotel on Clark Quay is similar, both good spots for a bit of exploring.

The only reason for airport hotels was due to proximity. I'll have 3 full size bags with me. A little bit more for the airport hotel is ok. Plus, I really want to be basically at the airport Tuesday morning for onward flights.

Three suitcases is a deciding factor! Recommend you hit the ECP (East Coast Parkway) for some seafood at Jumbo Jumbo Seafood Restaurant Reviews, Singapore, Singapore - TripAdvisor then head into town, check out Bugis market, Clark and Boat Quays and enjoy the sights.

Yup, its not worth $315. But when the price is reasonable, its a good location for a transit.

Regarding the luggage if you dont need to use anything inside them you could leave at Left Luggage. It is not expensive.

Other thing you can do is not collect your luggage when you arrive and it will be collected and kept at baggage services and you can go and collect in the morning.

Plenty of hotels to choose from to suit any budget.

If you're keen on a little bit of an adventure out of the airport, there's absolutely no reason why you would want to be staying at the airport or around the area. Simply get something downtown, so you can explore SIN until you want to go to bed. The CBD is only 20mins away by taxi, which can be also be booked in advance if you're paranoid about missing your flight. (It's similar to the car service in the US.)

That's like an eternity in intl travel speak - you certainly do not want to stay in airport hotel - as others said grab a taxi and head downtown or one of the other many spots where you can eat like a king and have a night you will never forget.

Google your best friend - spend an hour researching and choose an adventure you will enjoy far greater than the boring sterile airport hotel. IMHO of course - but anything over 8hrs for me and it's downtown.

I usually try check bags thro and then stay at the airside airport rooms. They sell them at 6 hr blocks and much cheaper than outside hotels. No windows though so just for business travel. Can use airside gym and go to various food courts for dinner. Wifi throughout airport. That would be my business trip itinerary

I've done this last Dec. Will do so again in Jan. So very convenient and facilities are in all three terminals. Cost around $100 for block.

If $$$ ot a big issue Crowne Plaza for sure, who needs a hassle? I like to go to Lau Pa Sat and the Satay stalls next to it in Boon Tat street, I'm a sucker for a bit of glitzy shopping so Orchard Road both ION shopping centre and Ngee Ann City are good and a few others there, Bugis Street and Little India but remember Taxis can be hard to hail in Singapore and the ranks can be strangely elusive in some areas though easy behind the shops in Orchard Road, once you get one they are cheap and fast.

for those interested …

I decided to stay at Crowne Plaza at the airport. In the morning I want to wake up and take it easy over breakfast, coffee etc as opposed to having to find taxis and travel out to the airport. Plus, a hotel is just a place to park my body in a way that is convenient for me.

Will go into the city and make use of recommendations in this thread tonight. Looking forward to that.

Will investigate the option of leaving my bags at airport for collection tmw when I land

finally, I hope maybe some others got something from the ideas posted.

Bag storage at SIN is relatively cheap and easy (I have used both landside and airside options).
