How lovely. Let me add it to my list of reasons never to fly with this mob.

I'd love an under cover comparison of the various AirAsia subsidiaries. Be interesting to see if they are all as hopeless as this lot seem to be.

Honestly, why are they still allowed to operate in Australia/Australian airspace? What will it take?

I'd love an under cover comparison of the various AirAsia subsidiaries.

AirlineRatings.com gives enough of an indicative comparison based on IATA, ICAO, FAA, EU blacklist, fatalities, Russian aircraft, etc:-

* AirAsia X = 6 / 7
* AirAsia Malaysia = 5 / 7
* AirAsia India = 3 / 7
* AirAsia Philippines = 3 / 7
* AirAsia Indonesia = 2 / 7
* AirAsia Thailand = 2 / 7

Still, I'd be less concerned about flying on AirAsia Thailand than about actually visiting Thailand.

Thailand has an estimated 24,000 road deaths every year, which is more than the estimated number of homicides in Iraq or Afghanistan, and slightly more than Mexico's murder tally.

And reduce the risk of being hit by a shakedown by not hiring scooters or jetskis

Interesting, thank you for posting. Not that I would make my decisions on AR.com, but I did have the perception, at least, that AirAsia X would be passable. However I'm not likely to be seen on a 9 abreast A330 any time soon :)

Regardless if it’s AirAsia Indonesia/Malaysia/Thailand etc..the standards are no better one compared to another. The check and training standards are the same, engineering is all the same the only thing they don’t have in common is different shareholding. AirAsia has full control over each operational subsidiary and all follow the same mantra: lowest cost in everything they do.

The core issue with this mob and a few others is they don’t invest in quality check and training standards. Engineering isn’t at the top of things to get done as it’s very costly. Invest in highly trained expat pilots and engineers and the standards will come.

They grounded Tiger Australia but don’t have the balls to ground this mob?
