Hello Everyone!

Recently, I was booked on Business Class (upgraded from Economy using points because of the skybed) on QF-68.
Due to a problem with an A330's landing gear, we had an 8 hour 'delay' to wait for a different A330 from Sydney.
Qantas gave us a very nice hotel room for the night (because it was an 11pm flight), and gave us HKD$900 ($110 AUD) for food.

Now, did Qantas only give the Business Class passengers on our flight the hotel room and the money for food; or did all passengers regardless of class receive the same type of treatment too?

The only reason that I am asking this, is because this is the first time Qantas has ever giving me anything when the flight was delayed or cancelled other than a different flight.

Thanks to anyone who responds.

Not sure of exact rules but if QF delay yourself and it is overnight they will provide accommodation or if it is your home town a taxi voucher or see you tomorrow.

I have been delayed by QF for a few hours one day and got offered a meal voucher for a $20 or something like that, I didn't accept it because I was in the J lounge so food wasn't an issue and also drink wasn't either.

They generally offer that to everyone on the flight.

Subject to accommodation availability, where you would expect premium pax to be looked after first.

In my experience, if a flight is delayed overnight, you will always be accommodated for the night, regardless of what cabin you are in (unless local conditions make this impossible). However, J & F pax seem to be put up at nicer hotels than the Y pax.
