Hi,
I have booked a Qantas FF award flight for my wife and I from BKK to SYD on Emirates business class and then from SYD-HBA on Qantas J, with HBA as our final destination.

When we go into either Qantas or Emirates booking management it offers to book the drive only in Sydney. I contacted Emirates support via Twitter and they said because the next flight is on Qantas we aren't entitled to drive in Hobart.

I amure I have had Chauffeur drive in Hobart before but maybe they have changed the rules as sadly it has been a little while since our previous EK F flight.

What are the rules please? Are we entitled or not?

Thanks very much,
Dale.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Forgot to mention that the flights are all booked on the 1 ticket, not separate bookings.

Justwent and found the email ticket - It has a heading in it saying Bangkok to Hobart Ticket and the email is from Emirates rather than Qantas but only the BKK-SYD leg is with a EK flight number and it then says connecting to QF flight number.
Must be how they put together and ticket award tickets now.

Award tickets are generally not issued for codeshare flight numbers (I can't think of an instance, but maybe there is.)

The EK page still lists Hobart as eligible for chauffeur drive 'provided by Qantas'. Don't know how that works in operation. Chauffeur-drive | The Emirates Experience | Emirates Australia

I just got back to Emirates and pointed out their website and eligibility. Will let everyone know what they say.

I fear you'll fall between two stools here.

As Mel_T mentions above, EK devolves the Hobart CD to QF.
QF in turn state that CD applies only to those connecting to or from QF1/2 & QF9/10.
And:
2. The applicable Chauffeur Drive terms & conditions are those of the carrier operating the flight for which the Chauffeur Drive service is used to get to or from the airport.

Qantas Chauffeur Drive Terms & Conditions

And something from the EK T&Cs which I've not noticed before and certainly hasn't been applied previously:
  • Chauffeur-drive service is not available on reward tickets booked via Emirates Skywards airline partners for travel on Emirates.

This bit excludes awards issued by QF (which are eligible) :)

But it would exclude EK flights booked through Alaska Airlines for example.

Interested to see how you go. I have a QF award BNE-SYD-BKK booked on QF J / EK F and was wondering if I can call up and book the chauffeur drive BNE as the EK website only gives me the option for pickup in SYD.

Just got this reply from Emirates support and all bad news. Seems will never work on Award tickets since not booked with a codeshare code. Just another way us regional people are screwed sadly:

Hi Dale,

Thanks for your message.

On your itinerary you have a Qantas flight number operated by Qantas.

We offer the chauffeur service in Hobart if the passengers are booked on a codeshare flight with an Emirates flight number, operated by Qantas. But I’m afraid that’s not your case.

I’d suggest getting in touch with Qantas on this matter.

Interesting.

I just realised that while the Emirates site allows me to book in SYD and BKK, the Qantas site allows me to book in BNE and BKK. I'm not sure if the option wasn't there before or if I just didn't see it.

Given each booking can be made separately, I might try my luck with QF in BNE and EK in BKK, given I am getting on a QF flight number in BNE and off an EK flight number in BKK.
