These are return fares. Must ticket on or before 25 APR 16. 1 month max stay permitted. The PER and SYD return fares are so low that you could use them as a one way ticket back to AU if you can't use the return due to the max stay requirement.

Books into (as per permitted routings below):

QR R class
CX I class
QF D class
VA D class

1 free stopover in Asia permitted for destination BNE only. Stopover length is max 7 days.

Pricing below is approximate due to the exchange rate.

The cheapest fares are ex-BHX, with all inclusive fares starting from:

PER: $2720 AUD - BHX QR DOH QR PER only permitted
SYD: $3100 AUD - BHX QR DOH QR SYD or DOH QR ADL QF/VA SYD permitted
MEL: $4380 AUD - BHX QR DOH QR MEL or DOH QR ADL QF/VA SYD permitted
ADL: $4550 AUD - BHX QR DOH QR ADL only permitted
BNE: $4380 AUD - BHX QR DOH QR SYD/MEL/PER/HKG/SIN QF/CX BNE permitted

ex-LHR all inclusive starting from:

PER: $3870 AUD
SYD: $4030 AUD
MEL: $4380 AUD
ADL: $4950 AUD
BNE: $4480 AUD

Same routing restrictions as BHX.

Ex-MAN and EDI are less well priced but still quite good.

Hot tip: whenever QR launch a new route expect a HUGE ridiculously cheap sale from/to that destination.

Watch out for QR "R" class, as it doesn't accrue any miles on many airlines FF programs.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Only QR and from 01/05, BA at this stage. It may take a while before they start to accrue to all FFPs but I would assume they will eventually.

Either way these fares are good enough that FFP earn doesn't matter too much!

However, if you fly out of Istanbul (IST) to ADL, it will be in I class for not a lot more $ and will earn 280 SC, which is not wonderful, but not to be sneezed at.

Note: The Qantas points calculator and the partner earning table give different results for the number of SC's to be earned on this itinerary.

I look at the prices ex LHR, and my blood starts to boil. We in Australia are just being played for fools. Since the Labor Party are offering Royal Commissions on those thiefs the BANKS. Why not a Royal Commission on Air Fares.
Some how I think not

Neither CX nor AA will earn with Qatar R class (according to their websites).

Happy wandering

Fred

I agree, but it's really a matter of charging what the market will bear. While people are prepared to pay the airlines' asking price there will be no incentive to reduce fares.

As for me, I would never pay more than $3-4,000 for a return business class trip to Europe. It may mean a little less convenience than flying QF or EK, but I still fly on quality airlines (not all on the one ticket though) and I enjoy the travel .

It also gives me the opportunity to have a few stopovers on the way, and I'm never in a particular hurry to get there. But others' needs will vary.
