Currently looking at the details of various QP memberships in the lead up to a probable holiday next year with my grandmother and a couple of great aunts to London.

With my Velocity Gold status, I've got used to having lounge access and J travel will not be an option. I would also feel guilty leaving most of the travelling party in the terminal while I go and drink up..

So, I've been thinking about QP membership and flying QF/BA. I can access a corporate QP rate, so was thinking:

Corporate QP: Enables access for Me + 1 guest; and
Annual Guest card: 1 guest in my company; and
Partner QP membership: 'Partner' + 1 guest

For a total of Me + 4 others having access. At a (not insignificant) cost, of course.

I have got my information from this page. Am I correct in my assessment of the memberships?

I note that the annual guest card is "valid in Qantas operated lounges branded as the Qantas Club and joint Qantas/British Airways, and Qantas/American Airlines lounges. It is not accepted in associated and partner airline lounges (including British Airways or American Airlines Lounges and other oneworld lounges.)". Does this mean it would be useless in LHR?

Only valid where everyone has a valid BP ...

Only valid at LHR if:

Using T3 as a departure point to Australia via SIN or BKK with BA or QF.

Using T5 on an outbound connecting flight where the inbound was BA or QF from Australia via SIN/BKK/HKG or outbound to Australia via HKG on BA.

... That's the way I read it.

BD

I'd save your money & take them to one of the many pubs/cafes/restaurants & just buy them all drinks/food. If a shower is what you are really looking for - there are alternatives to expensive lounge membership.

FWIW I've had access to BA's CCR & Flounges in LHR and found them to be just ok - not great.

If your flights are all with QF, you may want to look at the monthly lounge pass from AA....it even has guest privileges.

Just looking at this. It says the benefits of an annual membership apply to the 30 day pass, which includes access to qantas lounges. But then the fine print says the guest access policies of the lounge partner apply at partner lounges. I can't see anything on the qantas website that outlines access for Admirals club members.
