June 2013 is the confirmed date. The Honourable Lawrence Springborg MP, seeking the HQCC’s input into the development of legislation to strengthen the health complaints management system in Queensland.

Will be OK if they reduce the number of administrators.

Tumbleweeds are apparently already rolling through the hallways. Insert western soundtrack. Think NSW HCCC and NZ Heath Commission....

Hopefully there will be sufficient oversight of doctors without administrators.

More than 300 full time positions have gone in the Far North. And that is a lot more than administrators. Doctors have generally been safe but many nurses and health workers have gone. Of course, the people most affected by these changes are the ones with the least voice.

Shame on you, you are demonstrating logic 'consultation' is underway. Highly likely a senior council will be appointed. Wait for relevant medico representation to wave flags.

This isn't restricted to Queensland :(

And here is a timely article. Young woman's death sparks fears of a killer TB strain on our doorstep | The Courier-Mail

The argument from the Chief Health Officer is that if we re-open clinics will have people from PNG coming and spreading disease. Leave aside any treatment or management on humanitarian grounds. They come anyway! The border is open between the Torres Strait islands and PNG anyway as people go back and forth.

And this is on top of plans to shut down centralized control of TB management in Queensland. Cookies must be enabled | Herald Sun

Like boat people they do come and have a right. Most clinicians if not all will treat these patients. Life is life after all and you don't need to be educated to understand that. QLD is a tertiary facility for PNG, formally and informally.
