QFF Ultimate to Explorer - lose travel credit?

Hi all,

I am looking to transfer from an Amex QFF Ultimate card to the Amex Explorer to give me a little more flexibility in transferring points.

If this is actually possible, will I lose an unused flight credit on the QFF card & will an annual fee for the Explorer be charged in the first statement?

If anyone was wondering, I have had no luck doing a swap from the QF card to the Explorer.

They can't transfer my details to a different card family and I need to cancel the QF and do a complete new application, seems absolutely silly.
