Sorry If there's a thread already for this but I did scroll back through 9 pages and couldn't find anything.

Got the email a couple of weeks ago, from Qantas, offer of up to 81000 pts if I install a solar system from True Value Solar and 1000 points for just getting a quote. I took a punt (even though I know I'll get bombarded with junk email) and filled out the on line form to get a quote and have a stab at the 1000 points.

Read the T&C's, basically, all they said they would do is have a look at a sat map at my roof. Fair enough. No glaring hidden catches. Filled out on line form.....

1 week later, (yesterday), get phone call from call centre (obviously sub contractor) calling me about the Qantas deal for a quote etc etc etc. Started asking me again for all the information that I already provided and then tells me I will need to email TVS a copy of my last power bill. WTF?

I then explained that all I want is a quote for panels, inverter, installation, what brand of products they use. My arrangement with my power provider has nothing to do with that. Then got told by call centre that they would put all that on the notes for my call BUT if I don't provide a copy of my power bill I will not get a quote. No quote then of course no points.

After explaining to the lady that I have had quotes before from other reputable companies for solar installation and no one has ever asked for a power bill, and had a last ditch attempt to get a quote for the points and when I mentioned again about the panels, inverter etc, the reply was "sir I have no idea what you are talking about

I thanked her for her time and said not to bother. I don't think I will here from them again. I knew this was a marketing ploy and hey for an easy 1000 points but now they want me to jump through hoops and supply too much information, not worth it for me.

Any one had any similar contact with TVS re the Qantas FF points offer?

As far as solar installers go, based on the feedback on the Whirlpool boards, they are best to be avoided.
