Not the most exciting release of seats however QF released x2 J WLG-MEL-ADL in early Oct 21. It is a back up as I suspect our planned flights CHC-SYD-ADL with EK will not go ahead.

Edit I called back QF this afternoon and they released a 3rd seat. This is the first time I think that QF have released 3 seats on the same flights, I normally am happy with 2 and just pay for my flight.

Once again, the rep was extremely helpful and so pleased to be making a booking instead of cancelling/refunding one.

They proactively suggested I call back on 10 or 11 March to check if the computer would say yes to one of the later SYD-BNE departures, and that it'd be a free change under Fly Flexible. Really appreciated the suggestion as I wouldn't have thought to do it myself.

Managed to change to QF544 a few days prior to departure so calling back is definitely worthwhile. In the end got caught up in the thunderstorms on Friday which saw QF544 cancelled and some pax (myself included) rebooked on QF546. Was downgraded from J to Y so have lodged a refund request for the points difference.

25MAR22 SYD-HND QF25 I4 -> U2 declined
25MAR22 MEL-HND QF79 I9 -> U2 approved

Perhaps optimistic, but I'd really like to see the cherry blossoms next year... (and I reckon there's zero chance of this getting approved once travel to Japan is permitted)

Agent was surprised the former was approved. Neither of us was surprised the latter was declined.

Dec 21 just after christmas ADL-SYD-AKL x2 to J seats approved and on the flights I was after. Normally NZ is no issue and I did not expect I would have to request the seats. As a reference point I could not see any J seats between 9 Dec - 11 Jan even the Y seats were slim pickings. However as it is school holidays/ christmas and NZ is the only international travel we can do I thought demand would be high.

Qantas are currently having a double points offer for 5 days on Qantas/Emirates network flights, as well as double status credits for all Qantas operated flights.

Hi arabella11, What's the source for the DSC offer? I've not received an email (nothing new there!) nor can I see any such offer on the QF Homepage flash portal.

Regards,

BD

23/07/2022 SYD-HKG QF128 Q9->X2 approved. There were probably some J available too, but it's a day flight.

Looks like the HKG-SYD (or MEL) is only loaded with I0/Q0 in 2022, at least for a large sample of test search. Wondering why.

Anyone noticed a pattern of rejections for requested "U" flights containing more than "0" I class for non domestic travel?
Maybe its a simply the fact that, despite bookings for a flight being open , QF is unsure if the particular flight will go ahead for the usual reasons.
I can understand that a placeholder booking ( ie all classes zeroed out ) may or not be going ahead but I would have thought that one with most fare classes on sale would be a different kettle of fish.

It's been very inconsistent for me - I2 was approved but I9 declined per my post above.

Have tried a couple of times, all the reps are surprised it's getting knocked back.

January 2022 - MEL - SIN - I6 - Approved for 1 U
January 2022 - SIN - MEL - I9 - Approved for 1 U

The friendly rep was surprised, as before making the request, they warned me many to SIN had been denied.
