QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic award seats?

I recently requested some seats be released for SYD<>MEL - I was flexible so requested a few various flights where some were rejected and others were successful while all flights showed exactly the same loadings in EF! I guess loadings aren't the single factor when requesting.

I recently requested a P seat on QF36 SINMEL for a date in September and was rejected, but offered a U seat instead. Booked and confirmed the U seat, but was told to try again for P later on.

Called again last week to see how I'd fare and the P1 analyst has come through with the goods ;)

Success with Jakarta-Sydney and Sydney-Jakarta in J. The former was showing J9 C9 D9 and I7; the latter all nines. Requested about two months out.

I’m trying to request a Y or J seat SYD-PER this Friday 30th August on either of their 2 late afternoon services but they won’t budge. They still have red e-deal seats for sale but apparently the correct fare code for requesting the classic seat isn’t available.

ExpertFlyer supports that, unfortunately. The 4.45pm, 5.25pm and 7.50pm services are showing zeros across N, O, Q and E buckets. The 4.45pm and 5.25pm services are also full in J. I'd be surprised if Qantas was still selling reds given those numbers.

Try requesting with a connection in Melbourne - the back-to-back 332 services look good!

Thank you both. Unfortunately the 4.45pm and 5.25pm are the only flights which will work for me in terms of timing.
I’ve found a seat on VA via ADL with a very short connection which works so I’ve booked that. I’ll ring Qantas daily to see if anything has changed as they’d be my preference due to status.

Circumstances conspired to position me in ADL overnight when I had an award seat on a flight ex-ASP later today. Kudos to Zoe and her supervisor at the call centre who released a seat ex-ADL at T-9 for just 6000 extra points (and a partial refund of taxes). We all know relationships ebb and flow but I’m feeling the love right now 🤪

Had a P seat on QF1 for July next year.
Called about a month ago and actually wanted MEL-SIN-LHR QF35/QF1 but that got declined by the P1 team and the SYD-LHR was available without request.
Tried to push it forward a few days with some flexibility and the P1 team declined any further releases for that month. Must be peak season.
Odd because recently they had multiple dates at that time with QF1 P awards available on the calendar.

Called last week to for a QF7 and 8 U/P seat and was successful with P on the 7 on the exact date I needed, approx 2 weeks before departure. Nothing was available on QF8 within a few days of my required date but was successful with a U seat on QF12.
This without doubt my favourite WP perk.

I need an excuse ummm reason to have wears released.
It has been too many weeks
Actually I do like when I log into to my account it tells me where there are rewards seats available

As a WP rang last week to request a release for two J seats SYD-JNB for next June and within 30 seconds had two J seats for our requested dates....Still love Qantas

P1 requested 2 x J for QF1 SYD-SIN for several dates mid June to early July 2020, all rejected, but QF81 SYD-SIN successful. Ended up booking QF43 SYD-DPS

Yep. As WP tried requesting QF1 SYD-SIN sector in March and despite F9 A9 was rejected. May well be a blanket ban. Curiously, have QF2 SIN-SYD booked a few months ago.

Did you request F? (yes I know the points aren't really worth it for that sector)

was the intent to do SYD-SIN-DPS all along? (going to assume SIN-DPS on either 3K or SQ/MI?

They requested F for me even though I didn’t ask, but was still unsuccessful.

Interesting data point: agent said the 2020 northern summer season has been unprecedentedly busy, with many requests through to all destinations already, plus the release of more award seats.

I wanted to fly into SIN then fly KLM to DPS. But now will just stay in Bali
