QF2289 - Can't pre-select a seat

Hi,

flying from Perth to Launceston close to Xmas. I was able to pre-select seats from Perth to Melbourne and the return trip from Hobart to Perth, but unable to on the Melbourne - Launceston leg (QF2289).

Has anyone come across this before and knows why?

Regularly you can't select seats on QantasLink flights (sometimes you can, but not always).

Wait until check-in opens and if you have status you'll be offered close to the front anyway, but may still have limited options.

Pretty sure the only qantaslink flights that can have seat selection in advance are the 717 flights. Others (Dash-8s) can't. But you should be able to select window/aisle and in your preferences have forward or rear as pre-sets. 24 hours out do the online check-in and you should be able to select a specific seat, as Samh004 suggests. Has always worked for me.

You can't pre select any seats on Q400 flights which you will be on. They're all pretty much the same, so the only benefit is to get the front row. WP will get that first
