QF ups DFW from Jan

G'day all,

Have just seen reports that QF have upped DFW to 6x weekly from January. Quick check confirms the online timetable has been updated already!

Just further - looks like some weeks are 5x and some 6x until July. Not sure if that's the timetable being updated or real.

Qantas to Add More Dallas/Fort Worth Flights

Qantas will increase the frequency of its services between Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) from four per week to daily by July 2012.

Capacity on the route will grow to six services per week on 15 January 2012 and to seven per week on 1 July 2012. A special sale fare of $1299 [-]one-way[/-] return (economy) will be available from today until 10 October, for travel between 15 January and 31 August 2012.

$1299 is not a bad airfare! And the $2999 for Y+ is good. But are they still having trouble making the return trips without unscheduled refueling stops?

Great for QFi - presumably as other routes get canned the 744ERs are being freed up so this can go daily. Pleased to see this route succeeding.

Presumably it takes ~3/day to run? Where will the other three be used? SCL / JNB? SYD-LAX (QF107 is still 744 iirc)?

Sale prices are great - $3k return for Y+ is pretty good (I've not seen SYD/BNE/MEL lax much under $3k on sale for ages).

Qantas flight to Dallas

Just saw the news that QF will go daily from Syd-Dfw from Jun 2012, looks like they are trying very hard executing the 'new spirit' stuff, I do hope the rising no. of people traveling on this route would justify all their efforts. Good for QF.
