The Russians seem to have a bit of interest in their little jet, and who knows what effect an early Chinese purchase commitment might have in fast tracking Jetstar Hong Kong's regulatory approval (not to mention main land rights).
Boeing's 700max seems too big (but good for fleet commonality, and hey if you are talking A319neo may as well toss it in the mix), and Boeing could probably could do with some re-engagement from Qantas, after QF's most recent high profile announcement.
Great time to be tyre kicking this market anyway.

One would imagine that group capital management, is playing off Jetstar's Airbus purchasing power against QantasLink's existing Bombardier relationship, to get the best possible deal for any "long & thin route" jets (that they might be considering), plus maybe even pushing Jetstar Japan's relationship with Mitsubishi and Embraer's proven Australian domestic market knowledge, to spice up the negotiations?
I would be very suprised if the E-jets got up given their poor run with Virgin. I guess QFLink has more experience but the general consensus amongst the aviation crew on both camps is that the jungle jets have been nothing but trouble!
Noting that there have been over 800 deliveries around the world, with over a thousand on order, Jungle Jets can't be all bad! I do know that the economics with the E170 weren't there for Virgin, which is why they got rid of them and kept the E190.
Personally, as a Y passenger, I find them more comfortable than 737s, assuming you've got a book to read. I've flown on them on some interesting routes - CBR-TSV, which was interesting from the perspective of seeing all the construction and hole digging in the Bowen Basin at 30,000 ft. Likewise AirNorth E170 was great last year for a DRW-OOL run via ISA. I must admit I was smitten with the "smoko" break in the middle, which allowed me to stretch my legs, and appreciate a complete lack of humidity compared with the storms of DRW, before moving on to a wet and miserable OOL. Seeing the Mt Isa Mine (another big hole in the ground) from the plane was also pretty cool. You might gather from this - I marvel at big man-made holes in the ground, and Jungle Jets will take you there.
dig around online and you'll find some commentary including one that got stuck in HBA
Maybe coming from Brazil HBA was too cold for them
They seem to work fine in tropical Helsinki - have flown MAN-HEL on AY's E190 ... great pax experience apart from the lack of IFE.
