Hi. My QF status reassessment date seems to have changed from 2009 to 2010. Does this mean if I stopped flying now I would retain my status until 30 June 2011?

Not sure why Qantas would do this. If I am going to stay WP no matter what until June 2011 I am considering building status with another group (at least from now until 01 July 2010).

Am I interpreting dates correctly?

Because there has been such a reduction in flying due to the global economic crisis, QF is, for many people extending existing status for another 12 months.

In your case, if it keeps you flying with them then it has been a wise decision on their part!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It is normal for them to renew the month before if either (a) you have reached the required level or (b) they are going to renew anyway. This means that there is plenty of time for you to receive your new card by the time your old one expires

You should receive your new card soon.

What you see means that your status will be reassessed in June 2010.

Until then you will remain QF WP. There is no indication you will stay WP after this date, although, at worst you may drop to SG in 1st July 2010.

Whether Qantas decide to continue your WP status beyond June 2010 is up to Qantas - such decisions will probably be made in a years time.

I would also suggest that a decision to extend WP beyond July 2010 would be influenced by SC earnt between 2009 and 2010

Qantas generally "comps" status around 8 weeks before the reassessment date but in your case you have more than qualified Platinum. Unfortunately you are still accumulating SCs for the current year until June 2009 and then you will need to requalify for Platinum/Partner Gold from July 2009-June 2010.

Perhaps if you do that much flying in a year it may well be a good idea to try and get *Gold after you have qualified QF Partner Gold for the year....
