QF Seat Selection - Not Working?

Hello fellow AFF'ers,

Has anyone recently faced any issues in selecting seats on QF Intl. flights?

Flight numbers :

1. QF127 - SYD-HKG - 14/Aug/2019
2. QF8255/CX631 - HKG-MAA - 14/Aug/2019
3. QF8240/CX632 - MAA-HKG - 17/Aug/2019
4. QF128 - HKG-MAA - 17/Aug/2019

I tried, for the past one month and even today to select seats on my upcoming intl. trips and I always get an error. screenshot below.

This is kinda annoying because the flights I'm on have some bulkhead seats that I'd like to select, but keep getting the error.

For the QF operated sectors have you tried using a different browser or the QF app?
For the CX operated sectors have you tried selecting your seats through the CX web site?

For QF sectors - Tried the QF app - same error
For CX sectors - haven't tried CX website so far. Will try and update
 
Update :

Was able to select the seats I wanted for CX operated sectors on Cathay website. Still not able to save seat selection on QF website
 
I’ve had exactly the same issue for some flights to the US next week - eventually I just contacted Qantas and they were able to allocate seats for me. They couldn’t see why it had happened from their end. I tried various way including the mobile app, full website and a couple of different browsers.

Thank you @Per_Travels , I will contact QF to get those seats allocated. It's just weird that this issue is existing for a long time and no one from QF is trying to fix it. I work in the IT and I'm like "that's a defect, who tested this" :D
 
Update : So, I thought I'd call up QF to select seats. But later realized that I could use the chat service within the app a go and see if I could get the work done.

Started a chat and after 31 minutes, some one responded. I mentioned that I need to make a seat selection on my upcoming international flight. The agent asked for my booking reference. I provided it and then weirdly, the agent asked for my flight details and travel dates. I was like, hang on, I just gave my booking reference, but the still wants me to tell the flight information :D ????? I was surprised, but provided the information anyway.

My question was "Can you select a bulkhead seat, as front as possible in the cabin please?"

Then after 10 mins, the agent confirmed that he has blocked "bulkhead seats in the forward of the cabin", but when I logged into my QFF account and checked, the agent has indeed blocked a standard economy seat in the middle of the cabin.

What part of "bulk-head", "front of the cabin" did he not understand :D

On checking, the forward bulk-head seats are all blocked. So I'd expect the agent to tell me "Sorry, your choice of seat is not available, Do you want to choose a different seat??"

Instead he just said he's blocked "Bulkhead seats"

I'm now on the phone waiting with the customer care to see if I can select the seats I wanted.

I've had similar issues on a recent US trip - not just for seat selection but also for meal selection too within the 7 day window. Not sure - maybe my request for upgrades caused the glitch ?

The worst thing, the chat on the website isn't working either. I was able to get someone on the chat, but for some reason the chat window closed by itself and showed the Thank You and feedback page!
 

If this is the SYD/JFK flights where there is plane change you can never select seats online and always have to call.

Im currenly on hold to Qantas, 40 mins (after being disconnected the first time after 10 mins) and counting. Tried the SMS which is supposed to be faster, but no response yet except the bot asking for name and FF#. If they had a working website they wouldnt need to take so many calls!

I'm on hold too, it's been more than 50 minutes now !!!

The SMS thingy ain't working, so is the chat. The chat is done by someone who doesn't understand what a bulkhead is :(

I was able to get someone on the website chat - no luck, the window keeps closing and showing the Thank you page !!
 
What going on with QF Seat Selection?

Been trying for some flights where all flights are operated by QF and I keep getting the message - Individual seat selection isn't available for this flight

In that case it may be an equipment change, or that the flight has reached a certain percentage of seats pre-selected so it reverts back to the window or aisle selection.
