Can anyone assist me re using Qantas calculators please ? I am interested in 2 J tickets with QR from Colombo to Athens. When I attempt to calculate points & SC for this flight, it advises me unable/unavailable. This also happens when trying to calculate using other partner airlines.
How can I obtain this info. to help me make an informed decision as to which airline I can use to gain points & more importantly, SC's ?
I'm a novice when it comes to trying to use "the system" to maximise my benefits:confused:. Just hit silver, again, & now want to get to gold, 355 SC's in hand, July expiry.
Thank you for any advice.

Presumably this flight would be via Doha, in which case in J it's 2500pts and 80 SCs for CMB-DOH, and 1800pts and 25 SCs for DOH-ATH.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Look first at the earning category and then secondly the earning tables which is the next heading down.
Category for a business ticket is CDIJR.
Between South east Europe (Athens) and Doha it says 50 sc and 1800 points, I don't see Sri Lanka or India categorized on the tables so you might need to use the distance table. Using google it says about 2250 miles between Colombo and Doha so on distance table that equates to 80 sc and 2500 points for that segment. These are one way values.

Double check my workings. It's not my flight so I wasn't being pedantic.

What opusman said. You need to enter each individual sector into the calculator.

It's probably been asked before but why doesn't the calculator earning match the table? ie 50 sc vs 25sc - the other values are the same. And is one more accurate than the other?

The table has been known to have inaccuracies (although so has the calculator, so YMMV).

All part of the joys of simpler & fairer :)

Good point. The table does indeed say 50 SC.

The table shows J between Doha & Sth East Asia (Colombo ?) as 100 SC. The definition of Sth East Asia has the likes of Singapore & Timor Lest ! But no Colombo. Does this mean that the 100 SC are not available & that the mileage calculation would need to be applied ? (as mentioned by NZflygirl) in which case it could be 80 instead of 100 ! How can this be clarified ?

I couldn't find Colombo Sri Lanka or even India in the qantas definitions. You can click on the zones and it will have the Qantas definition of zones. Singapore etc are too far out to be classed as Sth East Asia and for that reason I used the distance based chart but needed to ask google the mileage first.
