QF PER-SIN to go double daily, Jetstar no more

I’ll be sticking with SQ for the time being. When they get a larger aircraft and reasonable departure times, i will reconsider.

I'd love that luxury but, for me, SC's are too hard to come by already without dumping QF as an option on that route.

More than double the price for marginally less squalid conditions... I do not think so QF.

Looks like I will now be exclusively on SQ until TR does something about their awful timings on PER-SIN.

I will have to savour my final 3K flight next month. From double daily to nothing (direct) in less than six months, the decline of 3K has been pretty rapid...

Wonder what routes JQ will be announcing next year to deploy the B787 that has been freed up?

This will be very interesting to see what is announced in the future.

I was surveyed a few months ago as a Jetstar Customer panel member on a range of current and some new destinations being mentioned in Asia that JQ doesn’t fly to.

I do wish Jetstar would stop handing over routes to Qantas!

Singapore, Bali, Osaka, Coolangatta etc etc

The "red rooing" of JQ is disgraceful.

I remember seeing Mumbai, Sapporo, Nagoya , Taipei & a few others on the questionnaire.

I would think With all the competition from AirAsia in KUL & Scoot in SIN, it’s quite crowded in the LCC sector at the moment in that part of the world at present.

No flights between BNE and KUL except for Malindo...

But I read recently that Japan is emerging as a favourite for Australians so I think chances are it'll be another route there.

With EK recently pulling out of MEL > KUL & With MAS a few years ago reducing services from KUL to MEL & SYD , and eliminating BNE altogether, KUL appears to have be a tough destination presently.

Hmm. I wonder what precipitated those service reductions? Don't think that was specifically about KUL the destination itself, although I am sure over-capacity and relatively low levels of origin/destination premium traffic didn't help.

Jetstar couldn't even make KUL work, no chance QF will do it in the short or medium term.

AFAIK AirAsia are pushing out a reduced schedule in Australia.

That was on a A330 so a B787 may have better economics...

How about JQ operating ADL-SIN, a former QF route, now that SIN-LHR will soon be restored?

I strongly suspect it’s very much a Yield related decision, as you hinted at. Premium traffic to KUL is minimal in comparison to SIN.
