As Jetstar is a member of the Qantas Group, is it too difficult to have Qantas frequent flyer number stamped on JQ boarding passes? Showing pass with QF number would make it easier to navigate the lounge reception desk.

Use the QFF app on your iphone/android. The Jetstar ticket says your QFF member number, so its easy for the desk staff to match up.

Part of keeping the fees down I suppose!

Whilst it may be useful to have your QFF number on the JQ boarding pass, it would be even more useful if it includes your status (as the QFF number does not mean much on its own).

I believe it would be easier to show them your membership card and boarding pass when you enter the lounge. For domestic, it is usually just a quick glance and for international, the lounge reception will look at your membership card and scan the boarding card anyway.

From my own experiences, JQ international shows your QFF number on your boarding pass (Providing you purchased a Plus or Max bundle) on international legs, but yes your observation on Domestic legs is correct no QFF number appears on your boarding pass despite purchasing the Plus bundle..... no idea why either? Cant be too hard I would have thought.:?:

As an aside, are there any other (formal or informal) benefits to QF status when you fly Jet* other than lounge access?
I only ask because I didn't think there were, but I just made two flights in the last couple of days, very full planes, but ended up with an empty seat next to me (WP) on both...maybe just good luck?

None, it might even be argued that Jet* staff don't even need to know about the QFF program because of its lack of relevance to their flights.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

On domestic flights you only need to show your QFF card at the lounge. It doesn't matter if you fly QF or JQ, they never ask anyway.

Just walked in QC at Adelaide airport. Despite flying JQ with QFFP clearly stamped without number (I take that P means Plat), the reception desk still insisted on seeing my FFCard. I pointed out the QFFP stamp but she still politely asked to see the card. She didn't explain.

Actually I think QFFP on the Jet* BP might just mean Qantas Frequent Flyer Program, nothing to do with status at all.
