trying to book a AA DOM flight on the AA.com (USA) site.

QF FF not recognised (name and FF number do not match)

Have tried several times to no avail

Any suggestions?

I recall having this problem. I went to finnair and removed any trace of my AA number (pre-populated) and replaced it with QF. After that the status held and all the benefits with it. It took me a couple goes to get it to register however.

Has happened to me recently on numerous occasions.
The simple solution is to book the flight without any QFF number or any other FF number in it. Once booked you can easily go in with the record locator and add it.
Works immediately this way on AA.com

Ok,

Seems it does not like 7 digit number, My wife and i have this but my daughter has 10 and its complaining about ours and
not hers.

Ill just leave ours out and then go back in

hmm..

So if you AA.com and keep it on American site it will not take it.

If you switch to Australian and get billed in AUD then it will accept it.

I booked last night on the Australian one and it worked fine

You can always make the booking on the AA.com site and then enter the FF number later, either on line or by calling. It’s often the case that the .com site has better fares or better connections.

Yes, I agree with all of that.

Regarding fares, the AA.com site has almost always worked out cheaper when I've checked fares, but I compare both anyway.

I recently made a change to an existing booking via AA premium hotline, but she had trouble re-issuing ticket with existing QFF number on booking. In the end I told her to leave it out and I would sort it out later (It was an old complicated fare that was no longer in their system and didn't want to risk getting disconnected and having to go through the whole process again...especially being the fourth time trying!)

Incidently I had 2x transcon first legs and got caught out with the downgrade in SCs (halved!) - not happy Jan.
