I had seen a post relating to Qantas credit yesterday, and I was about to add some question to the post, but somehow the forum was down so my question were not posted.

Today I tried to find the said post above and I could not find it.

I tried to search a similar question but could not find any, please feel free to merge with other post if necessary

===============================

Last March I had to cancel few series of our bookings with Qantas when my mother passed away a day before our trip to Australia/NZ due.

We (my husband) managed to talk to Qantas and the lady said that she canceled all our flights and put them in credit to be used within a year.

The other day, I tried to log in to my account and could not find the credit anywhere.

My question where should I look?

The other question is:
The trips are for 4 passangers, and been booked at different days by different people ( me and my husband). Will the credit go to each account or will it be say the trip booked by my husband will be credited into my husband's account and the trip booked by me will shown at my account?

Sorry for the long intro and even longer question.

Thanking you all in advance!

When you say "last march" do you mean March 2008 or just 2 months ago ?

If March 2008, then the credit will have expired since it was only valid for 1 year.

The credit ,ime, is that the flight information stays in your bookings list ( assuming you have QF FF numbers ) and can see the old bookings there. The credit from those can then be used subject to the $45 fee

Dave,

Thank you.

It was March 09.

I tried to search under my booking, but it just gone no where, it just said that the booking is not upgradeable and then the list, nothing said about the credit, should I be worried now?

What went wrong here:confused:

Nothing more.

here is the thing it said on the web when I entered my booking reference:

Upgrade - not available
An upgrade is not available on this itinerary due to one or more of the following reasons. The flights are:
  • not operated by Qantas
  • restricted or heavily discounted airfare (for example, Red e-Deal flight)
  • a Classic Award or an Any Seat Award purchased with Frequent Flyer points
  • do not have an upgradeable class
  • a prize ticket or a promotional offer
  • part of a group booking. Contact a Qantas Office for an upgrade
  • a voucher for future travel
  • already flown
For further details, see the terms and conditions.

If you can't find it in "your bookings" (if frequent flyer was entered into the booking) for either person, and can't find it by using the PNR and surname here:

Book - Manage Your Booking - Flight Booking

Then, call up Qantas and see if they can assist. It will make life a lot easier if you have a copy of the original bookings and can provide dates etc.

Note that Qantas can do searches on credit cards used, so that may be another option if you no longer have the details of the original booking.

Mal,

Thanks, I think I shall get my husband to call Qantas than.

The lady could tell my husband that 3 series of tickets were due to be used no later than November, December and February, so they should have the record when he talk to Qantas last March.

I am in the middle of planning to do the trip for June/July now and were a bit sad to see no credit on my QFF account.

I also search my email just in case there were any confirmation on the credit status, but no emails found.

I still have all the booking confirmations via emails, so I should have enough data for the booking.

Thank you.

Yay Serfty!

Thank YOU!

I can see it now and it said

Airline confirmation number(s): Qantas Airways CREDIT

Now, how do I use that credit? Am I have to do the same routes as the original tickets were and booked it via the phone?

Originally we were flying SYD-WLG-SYD; SYD-ADL-SYD

And on another ticket WLG-AKL-WLG

Now we want to go to Chrischurt or Queestown, Wellington; maybe Auckland if we have time for it, Jakarta, Adelaide and back to Sydney. (We will be coming into Oz via Sydney)

Do we have to book online the flights we want or just take notes on what flights we want and call?

Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate your helps!

You do not have to book the same routes. It has to be a one-way or return booking. You can't use the multi-city function when using the credit.

Do you realise that as at early June domestic NZ flights are no longer Qantas, at least Jetconnect, and are now Jetstar so the credit will not be valid for those bookings.

You can use the credit over the phone but you will be charged a service fee for each booking. It would be easiest to use the credit online as that way you just lose the change fee and any difference between the old airfare and the new airfare.

I have used the credit feature a number of times, and will be using it again soon, but I cannot accurately describe it in words allthough it is not difficult to use. If unsure of anything call the Qantas service centre but do not use reservations or ticketing to book the new flights as you will pay the service fee on top of the change fee.
