Apologies if this has already been answered, I'm just about to book some flights to Europe and the BA codeshare on QF metal is consistently cheaper than QF for the oneway flights I'm booking. From the QF website, BA partner section:

Travel in Discount Economy in the eligible booking classes between these city pairs will earn a base rate of 1:
- Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney and London or Frankfurt via Bangkok or Singapore,
- Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney and Bangkok or Singapore, and
- London or Frankfurt and Bangkok or Singapore

Does anyone know if this base rate of 1 on these city pairs will survive the end of the JSA?

Thanks!

If they know, they are not telling - such would be CiC.

From my PoV, it is earn at 1:1 earning for discount economy on the current defined JSA routes is likely to be reduced.

Re: Will the end of the JSA impact QF points earning on BA (codeshare) flights?

Hi Serfty, thanks for the reply. My flights are for next June / July so post the JSA - I wonder whether I'd have any luck arguing with QF based on a screenshot of the rules at the time of booking... might be worth a punt.

QF/BA Codeshare flights changing[End of 1:1 earning?]

As with the ending of the JSA with QF and BA, some changes have been advised for future bookings.

Qantas and British Airways are in the process of winding down their Joint
Services Agreement. From 31 March 2013, Qantas will remove its code from a
number of British Airways services to destinations beyond London.

Qantas will continue to provide codeshare services on British Airways operated flights
to a number of destinations within the UK and Continental Europe. From London,
customers will be able to fly on Qantas codeshare services to Edinburgh,
Aberdeen, Leeds-Bradford, Berlin, Brussels, Toulouse, Stockholm, Olso and Zagreb
(with Leeds-Bradford, and Zagreb being two new codeshare destinations).

Existing bookings
All Qantas customers with existing bookings for travel on the discontinued codeshare services from 31
March 2013 will be rebooked onto the prime British Airways flight number, with
the same flight details (i.e. the same destination, date, time and travel
class). Travel agents will start to see the changes appear on their GDS schedule
change queues from Thursday, 8 November 2012. Customers with bookings prior to
31 March 2013 and customers booked on the continuing codeshare routes are not
impacted by the change.

Future bookings
Customers can continue to travel via London to/from the destinations
removed from the codeshare arrangement by booking an interline journey,
combining Qantas flights with our oneworld partner British Airways or other
carriers’ flights.

Qantas Frequent Flyers
Qantas Frequent Flyer members booked for travel from 31 March 2013 on
affected intra-European Qantas codeshare services, whose flight has been
rebooked to the British Airways flight number, will earn the same points and
status credits for that flight – provided the member makes no further to the
booking (e.g. change in date, time, destination).

This will only apply to existing bookings. For new bookings for travel from 31 March 2013, Qantas
Frequent Flyer members will earn points on British Airways services in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program.
For details about earning points on British Airways services with a British
Airways flight number, see
Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members who have purchased a Classic Award seat
are not affected by the change.

So the implication is, those who book from now on BA for say, SIN-LHR in discount economy after March will earn ¼ points per mile.

Those with existing bookings would earn 1:1.

Going by the information and links posted by TheInsider you should be fine - as long as you do not change the booking.

Thanks Serfty and TheInsider, good to know. I've already booked but went with QF to SIN and Finnair to Lon. Not as many points but the $2000 saving more than made up for it.

Re: Will the end of the JSA impact QF points earning on BA (codeshare) flights?

It appears a few QF intra-Europe codeshares with BA will remain (Qantas Industry website):

Qantas and British Airways are in the process of winding down their Joint Services Agreement. From 31 March 2013, Qantas will remove its code from a number of British Airways services to destinations beyond London.

"Qantas will continue to provide codeshare services on British Airways operated flights to a number of destinations within the UK and Continental Europe.

(Leeds-Bradford, and Zagreb being two new codeshare destinations).
