We are one A380 out of action, it is a popular aircraft with many people Booking specifically.

Given it may well be some weeks, there will be a few inconvienced by this.

Are you one of these people?

Any QF insider comment?

Cheers

My next booked A388 flight is not until June, so no issues personally.

However, it looks from the wing damage this critter will be out of action for some time; not to mention possible down time for the current and future fleet.

Qantas announced last week they were putting another 4 into operation before the end of this year.

The Mrs and I are on QF31 SIN-LHR, 7/12, so it may well impact me.
I hope not, we have 34 A/B.

Next new A380 is due soon. So maybe will just mean delaying retirement of the next 747 until the SIN bird is fixed. But certainly expect some 744 substitutions over the next few weeks.

fatherdoc and motherdoc may be in strife with their 7/11 flight MEL-SIN......

Just listening to Alan Joyce on ABC newsradio (press conference) - all A380 services "suspended until QF safety requirements are met". Timeframe not given, but "until airbus and investigation determine safe to fly". Not good.

Well, the answer to this thread title now becomes - everyone booked on an A380 until further notice.

Tentatively my A380 travel is next in Feb and March (Feb is SYD-LAX-SYD on QF11/12, and March is SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN-SYD on QF31/32).

I haven't booked anything yet though because I haven't confirmed exact dates (and there's a possibility that QF31/32 will be QF5/6 instead). I'll see what happens before making a move :)

Not sure if I've been on Nancy-Bird. I know I've been on VH-OCQ "Paul McGuinness" (third) and VH-OQF "Charles Kingsford Smith" (6th and newest) though.

Anyway, glad to hear that nobody was hurt which is the main thing.

QF31 SYD-LHR 2nd December, and return on QF32 12/12 - both in J with requests for F - OK guys - hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

"QF OPs to VH-OJR sitting at AVV with painted out tail, got anything planned for the next few days, we retired you too early".

I had 80a tomorrow to LAX - BUGGER!
also have 80a home in 10 days - Hopeful.
tomorrow should be a very interesting day - ADL-SYD-LAX-SFO. Oh well, I'll get a good nights sleep just in case!

6 members in my group travelling 14/11 on QF9, but we are on four different itineraries due to varying return dates ... will be interesting to see what happens to seat selections!

Your check in dilemma this morning was before this incident happened and unrelated, right?
