Any recommendations for best seats (economy) on Qantas A330-300 other than exit rows?

I am travelling on Qantas A330-300 from Brisbane to Singapore with my elderly mother. We don't qualify for an exit row seat because of the terms and conditions. I am 6ft and I am wondering if there is a "next best seat" on this flight? I have tried to google and used seat guru but still thought I would ask the question here to all of you because of the wealth of information on these forums.

Hope you can help.

Re: Any recommendations for best seats (economy) on Qantas A330-300 other than exit r

I flew with my sister in June and she had the first row of economy, 23, and I had the second, 24, and didn’t find either seat to be too restrictive with legroom, and I’m 6 foot too.

The A330 is generally quite reasonable with leg room.

Obviously the best would be exit row but the bulkhead seats in row 23 are quite good although the window seat can be a little restrictive.

The A330's are alright, not the best though.

I am about 6'4"-6'5" and have been fine. On just about every flight I've been on I haven't had much to complain about with space. (always in Y, mostly PER-SYD/MEL/ADL, usually down the back). At 6' you shouldn't find things too bad!

My experience is quite different - the bulk head gives you knee room but not foot room because your feet have no seat to slip under.

The trays in the arm rests also take valuable width (assuming that your width is in proportion to your height).

Hi all

Curently booked on QF 35 on an A330 300 and can select 23 A and B for myself and Mrs Ansett. Are these good seats given the bulkhead or are we better off with other seats?

If so what seats would you all recomend?

Thank you Mr and Mrs Ansett

I always prefer the A330 bulkhead, just because its the bulkhead and no one in front. But legroom is not that great. If you want more legroom then 24AB is good as still near the front but can stretch legs out.

Enjoy!

That was pretty much my thoughts Mrs Ansett is short :)
in the nicest possible way and at 5 8 guess I am no giant either BUT i do like to spread my legs out under the seat in fornt and always worry about room. Have only ever found row 66 on A380 as a bulk head to have heaps of room. How much room is their at the bulk head on athe A330 row 23?

I always take 23a/b. You get no one reclining into you. However ife screen is in arm. So you ge'er t slightly smaller width

Damn means less room to cuddle :D and less width is never good however slight :D

Agree with the other posters, I go for 23A/K - the leg room's not that good but you don't have that sea of humanity in front.

I dislike A330 but if forced to fly on one and in steerage, I choose row 24 as I find the legroom restricted in row 23 - I am 185cm. Row 24 has two advantages, IMHO: the ability to slide your feet under row 23 and the arm rest comes up, if you are lucky enough to have an empty seat beside you, or are travelling with a "special" friend.

For a daytime flight I usually for 23A and put up with the restricted leg room. For a overnight flight I'll go with 24A for the extra leg room.

I usually go for 23B/J and stick my feet out into the aisle... and I'm only 5 foot 7.

Can I please ask if seated by the window in row 23, is there is enough room to slide past your neighbour without getting him/her to stand up?

Am tossing up between window 23 and aisle 24.

Cheers.

Their feet will be up against the bulkhead so it is tight. If they're awake they'll probably pull their legs in, but no need for them to stand up. If they're sleeping you'll have to step over, but it's not too difficult.

23J/K are very average, especially when the bulkhead has no foam between it and the fuselage, letting in light all night, and its end of school holidays so you have a few kids, including a screamer in the bassinet at 1AM. Throw in the noise of the crew chatting in the galley at 2.30 and you can see why I am searching for matchsticks today!

Hence why Mrs Anseet and I chose 24A and B. Hopefully these should be a lot better even though we will have some one reclining :D

Re: QF Y front row 747 - row 43 on new 3 Class config.

I walked down the back a few times. Legroom does look restrictive as there is no cut-out and reminds me of 23BJ on the A330.

Does anyone have a photo of 23B or J on the A330? I have that seat on a SYD-BKK return trip next month!

Looks like the reviews from these links are OK:
